📍 Akabane Hachiman Shrine, 4 Chome-1-6 Akabanedai, Kita City, Tokyo 115-0053
About 10 minutes on foot from the North gate of Akabane station, Hachiman Shrine offers various charms.
Since the Edo period (1603-1867), Akabane Hachiman Shrine has been loved by the locals as the general guardian deity of the Akabane area, but the current shrine building was built in 1931 and renovated in 1988.
This is not an usual shrine as the bullet train runs under the precinct, but there is a very nice atmosphere.
So many things have changed from the old days, but on the contrary, the children seemed delighted to have an observatory where they can see the Shinkansen.
The very splendid Shrine was dignified to be the general guardian of the five villages in the vicinity of Akabane district.
The main pillar of worship at Hachiman Shrine is Michizane. the god of academic achievement.
