Final glimpse of Sakura on Arakawa River before the rain
📍 Akabane Sakuratsutsumi Park, Iwabuchimachi, Kita City, Tokyo 115-0041
Springtime in Japan is a magical season, as it brings along with it the beautiful and ephemeral cherry blossom “sakura”. The blooming of sakura trees is a special event in Japan, and people from all over the world come to witness this breathtaking sight. One of the best places to enjoy this spectacle is on the Arakawa River in Kita Tokyo, because it is so quiet and peaceful.
I decided to take a stroll along the River to enjoy the scenery before the rain arrived. The river banks were lined with numerous sakura trees, creating a stunning pink canopy overhead. The view was truly mesmerizing, and it was impossible not to stop and take pictures every few steps!!!
Walking along the riverbank was so peaceful, with the soft rustling of the sakura leaves in the breeze and the gentle sound of the river flowing nearby. It was a perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take in the beauty of nature.
As the afternoon went on, the clouds began to darken, and it was clear that rain was on its way… I made sure to take in as much of the sakura as I could before the rain hit. It was bittersweet to think that this was likely the last time I would see these gorgeous blossoms for the year…
Overall, visiting Arakawa River in Kita Tokyo during sakura season is an experience that should not be missed. The beauty of the sakura blossoms is something that will stay with you forever. It is a reminder of the fleeting nature of life and the importance of cherishing every moment.
